Latvian Museum takes part in ''Montgomery Heritage Days'' festivities
The organization Heritage Montgomery, which sponsors a wide variety of historic venues in Montgomery County, has asked us to participate in their Heritage days, which will take place on June 29 and 30, 2024, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM.
Our events will take place in the Latvian Ev. Luth. Church of Washington, DC. Although the organizing of this event has been undertaken by The Latvian Museum, we invite everyone for whom showing Latvia to the world is important to help with advice, ideas, and work at this event. These days were very successful before, and I am sure they can be such again.
We have engaged the folk ensemble 'Sudrabavots' to perform on Saturday afternoon. Please let me know about other programs that we could present. All the programs and happenings will be advertised in the press and social media. We would like to have activities for children, possible cooking or other types of classes, and we have the ability to sell products. There is no entrance fee for the event itself, but we may charge for classes or products. I can provide more detailed information.
Please let your family members, friends, neighbors and other interested folks know about our events, as well as the possibility of helping before and during the two days. Let us show the world our beautiful traditions, artifacts and abilities. By working together, we can create something impressive.
The Latvian Museum will also be open to the public on Saturday, June 29th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Sunday, June 30th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
